BRACELETS BENEFIT TSUNAMI RELIEF, SALINAS LIBRARIES: HUNDREDS BUY INTO FAD

At Salinas High School, generosity is in fashion these days.

To raise money for good causes -- both here and across the globe -- students are forking over cash for colorful and trendy "awareness bracelets."

On Monday, the school chapter of the Health Occupation Students Association began selling two wristband models: A teal bracelet, selling for $2, supports tsunami relief in Southeast Asia; a $3 lime one supports Salinas libraries and recreation centers.
