SAN DIEGO BASED ALLIANCE WORKS TO IMPROVE PROSPECTS FOR LATINO HOME BUYERS
By Edmond Jacoby , North County Times, Escondido, Calif.
RISMEDIA, July 21 – (KRT) – A helping hand from a Fortune 500 company that specializes in home-buying services is being used by an association of Latino real estate practitioners to improve homeownership prospects for Latino buyers.
Although not aimed specifically at Latinos, the special package of related products from First American, offered through a business alliance with the San Diego-based National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, removes some key barriers that made it difficult for the association's members to serve Latino communities.
According to a First American spokesman, while 70 percent of Americans are homeowners, only about 48 percent of Latinos in the United States own their own homes. In San Diego County, only about 40 percent of Latinos are homeowners. Latinos constitute slightly more than a quarter of San Diego County's population.
