GREY GOOSE FLIES THE COOP: BACARDI HAS NEW TASTE FOR VODKA

Chappaqua, NY -- In a move that will significantly bolster Bacardi's portfolio, the privately held Bermuda based spirit supplier will spend what has been reported as upwards of $2 Billion USD to acquire Grey Goose Vodka from the Sidney Frank Import Company of New Rochelle, NY. Completion of the sale is expected within the next few months once regulatory approvals are obtained. Grey Goose will be added to Bacardi's family of brands that includes their flagship rums, Dewar's Scotch whiskey, Bombay Sapphire gin, Cazadores Blue Agave rum, and Martini & Rossi vermouth. In 2002 Bacardi also created Turi, a super-premium Rye vodka imported from Estonia. It is unclear what will be done with Turi now that Grey Goose has been acquired.
