• The myriad challenges of predicting and securing the Latino vote-for
both Democrats and Republicans
• Complicated matters of differences among Latinos-Cubans, Mexicans,
Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, and others -- as well as Latino ambivalence
over the values of mainstream Anglo-American culture
• The issues of concern for the Hispanic community:
education, the economy, serious immigration reform, including a
penalty-free legalization program for hardworking undocumented immigrant
taxpayers already here, and special consideration for families separated
by borders, among others
